IP address confusion

Ok, When hosting, what kind of IP Address do you use? I keep getting different responses to use Static IPs and not to use them.

http://www.whatismyip.com/
That IP right there is what you use to host.

I used that one, but my server still doesn't show.

Did you also forward your ports? It might be a good idea to do that if you want to host netgames.
