[Intended] Crushers Kill Spectators

I was playing a netgame in Noxious Factory as a spectator, when I was smashed by a crusher and, according to the console, "died." I couldn't have died if I wasn't playing. I'm not sure if this is exclusive to Noxious Factory, but it most likely isn't, because the same crusher mechanic is used on all levels.

Cue this thread. It apparently has to do with spectators still being mobjs as of this release.

I'd already read that, I still don't get why it's considered intentional that spectators can die, given that there's surely a way to avoid that.

Spectators can now be crushed (to maintain level integrity)

Keep in mind that if the spectator were crushed by something that doesn't move up and down constantly, they'd wind up stuck if they didn't die. That's not very fun, is it?

I think the expectation of being an invisible being that can look over the battle freely is to go through these dangerous objects. But if that were the case, every spectating player can go through Doom's Flooring and see HOMs constantly.
