Inputs Not Working Please Help

My controls work fine in tutorial mode, but as soon as I enter Race or Prison mode, I can't do anything but:

• Tilt left and right
• Use rings/insta-whip (which are both bound to B instead of ZL which I have them set to)

I'm using a Nintendo Switch pro controller attached via c to c cable if that helps.

Are you using any software to remap the controller as an XInput device, like x360ce or DS4Windows or anything else using ViGEmuBus?

Silly question: when you jump into Race mode, did you select the "Guest" profile by accident? Each profile has its own control bindings. Perhaps you either selected "Guest" during the tutorial and remapped controls that you don't use, or you selected "Guest" before jumping into a race...?

On that note, are you able to rebind the controls for your profile? You can do this in Options -> Profile Setup -> Your profile -> Controls.

No, that was one of the first things I checked, sadly. (x_x*)
And yes, I can rebind my controls. (* ￣︿￣)

Also worth noting that keyboard controls work fine, it's just controller inputs that seem to be non-functional. (ﾟヮﾟ*)

Maybe it has to do with what controller you’re using?

If you have Steam, try adding ring racers as a non-steam game and launching it via steam. Steam input can sometimes help with controllers not wanting to work.
