Pretty much. As far as I've played of 1.09 it should be less then a year until it releases; If it's any longer it would honestly shock me pretty badly.

Personally, I'm still hoping that Eggman from SPMoves is implemented into 1.09, and that Mystic has been asking AJ about it like he said he would ^^;

The final levels in 1.1 are going to be awesome!!! They have been working on them for soooo loooong they must be very cool!!! Anyway 1.09 must be sometime not too far away. Then when thats released we can look forward to 1.1 coming. :D
