The most fun I ever had playing sonic 1 on the gba was when I was turning of the game
Man...that was fun...
All jokes aside, I really liked Sonic 1. The Labyrinth Zone of that era is probably the ONLY good Labyrinth Zone to me. I mean, there's DECENT platforming suited for the underwater physics! But Sonic 1 was amazing for its time. It was very controversial, as it introduced a brand new way to play! It backed up what Super Mario Bros was trying to do: Simple can always be better. I shall rank the Sonic 1 zones now, to show what overall I think of the game.
Green Hill:Perfect atmosphere, great platforming mechanics, and a good overall 1st level, it's no contest why this level is the most iconic! 9/10
Marble Zone:Also very iconic, most likely my favorite. Great platforming, multiple cool puzzles, and even cool details here and there! 10/10
Spring Yard Zone:What was basically the first Casino Zone, this level was cool, but it could have been more, maybe get rid of spikeballs, and instead add things that mess with gravity. 7/10
Labyrinth Zone:Not too shabby for a water level. Need I say anymore, Lenore? 7/10
Star Light Zone: S p i k e b a l l p h y s i c s (Good as hell music tho) 6/10
Scrap Brain Zone:Most likely my least favorite. My brain fried trying to figure out what to do, and the new badniks and trap placements REALLY didn't want me to do it. 3/10
Final Zone:Average Final Boss. Needs to be harder. 4/10
Special Stages:There's no need to explain this. 1/10
