i wonder if myhouse.wad can be recreated in srb2

since srb2 runs at the doom engine, i wonder if myhouse.wad can be recreated as a map

It is mostly like that because it was just loaded in, and not edited for SRB2.

Yeah, it is because they just loaded it, not edited for srb2. although with some custom texture support or good texture usage, and put srb2 supported enemies you can make myhouse.wad able to run on SRB2 (also it needs to be scaled enough)

The map is cool and I'm not afraid despite it being a map that haunted the internet and if you run the map in srb2 it gets EXTREMELY BUG (for me that's funny)

No. myhouse.wad relies on many features provided solely by the GZDOOM engine. It's not just a matter of "DOOM engine", because that would imply myhouse.wad could run on an MS-DOS copy/vanilla-accurate source port of DOOM II, which it doesn't. GZDOOM is necessary to play myhouse.wad, whereas SRB2 runs under a heavily modified version of the DOOM Legacy engine, which is very different despite being based on the same game.

Besides, that'd be pointless.

While porting the base map is likely impossible (as ArpeggioPegasus already pointed out) Technically recreating the map could hypothetically be possible, though it'd probably:


1. Take a long time to make
2. be a pain in the ass to make
3. not be 100% accurate, as even with both SRB2 and myhouse running on a version of the doom engine, SRB2 uses a heavily modified version of Doom legacy, and myhouse uses GZDoom, which despite both being based on doom, are very much different. so certain parts probably couldn't be faithfully recreated and would have changes made

If this was a matter of everything needing a reason to exist, video games as a whole would not exist let alone SRB2 and it's mods.
