I type my ip adress in the adress bar but what is wrong

I'm trying to post forward, but when i paste it in the bar to replace Google.com, it keeps giving me problem page. It says its unable to connect.
I want to host my own game, but i can't do it until i get something clear. I have Firefox for my internet. Oh, when i downloaded the main game to play, it says it is not a valid wid32 application.

You don't type your IP address, you type in your gateway address.
Hit Windows+R, type cmd, type IPCONFIG. Use the Default Gateway address to get to your router.

This guy worries me. Anyway, I believe you are supposed to put URLs in the address bar.

This is for forwarding ports for a router. You put your gateway address there.
Edit: Or maybe it's DHCP Server?

Are you making fun of my post? And I worry you all? I am sick of hearing that. I put that there because I saw posts that say what kind of internet do you have? Firefox or whatever the other thing is. Mayby it was a stupid thing to typed in but oh well. Mayby I need more info to put up. My last compter died and I got a new one . When I download your game, and try to play the game and I couldn't see the sonic symbol or the books for the final demo. I get an error aplication when I try to click on them.
