I don't want to replace existing Things with my custom Thing

I've got a custom thing sprite that replaces toad. It's lumps are named ToadA0 And ToadB0. But what could I name it so it doesn't replace Toad, or any other existing thing that comes with SRB2?
 
Just like SOCs contain free slots for Things and Frames, there are also a set for sprites.

Select your frame, and on the top-right corner, you will find the sprite slots. If you did made a new thing with a new frame, then your frame should have TOAD, while near the bottom, the frame number would be 0 or 1. I forget. The second frame would be TOAD, with frame 1 or 2. So simply replace TOAD with one of the free slots. I think it's FRE01, FRE02, and so on.
 
I renamed the lumps FRE01 and FRE02. Now toad is back on my map. But how do I place my custom thing on the map now? I don't know the thing number for FRE01/2.
 
When editing the thing in SOCedit, if you haven't already, find the "mapthingnum". If it's using the same as another object, change it to something random like 9999, and then place an object with that same number in the map.
