on XWE i uploaded a character WAD, i clicked edit, choosed a pallete,when i click anywere on the sprite nothing happens! i tried again but it didnt work! can anybody help me here please?

Yes you can:
Image > Edit
Click a colour to select it and use 1-7 to apply colours (1=selected colour, 2=next colour on the palette, 3=the colour on the palette after 2 and so on). W sets sprite width and H sets sprite height.
