Html code on forums

Why is it when I try to insert a html code for a link, it gets rid of it.

Click the new post button. Notice at the bottom right corner it says "HTML is OFF". You don't need HTML for links, just paste the URL in..

We don't allow HTML here because honestly, so many people fail at HTML and it can occasionally break the forum tables.

I wanna put a link on my signature like Tets. But when I do it, it gets rid of the code.

See I thought you can insert html code in your profile to make links and stuff. The BB way is pretty similar to the HTML way.

The main difference is that the BB Code is set up in such a way to make absolutely sure it can't break the tables, and it's really limited compared to HTML. That's pretty much all. Works the same way.
