How would I delay a teleport?

I'm making a character mod where the character's main ability is teleporting up to 3 times in the air. I need it so that the character doesn't teleport instantly and there's a moment where the character is just invisible and then it teleports. Espio's teleport is a good example of what I'm looking for.
