How to port old wad files

As the topic title says, I have absolutely no idea how to port old wads (from 1.09) to the newer and better 2.0/2.4. I've been looking around the forum and searching on google but I still can't find any help so if someone can help me then I would be grateful. (I'm porting my own wads)

Not a broken URL. It's bad tagging.
You could've gotten the URL from my post, regardless.

But still, that's the lvlconverter. He may want to convert characters...

To port characters, you just edit the colors according to the palette and make a few minor MAINCFG changes. It isn't difficult.
