how to play multiplayer with wads

how can you play a game with wads active?-

You can only use wads if the host of the game adds them.

If you are the host, you can add wads by using the ADDFILE command.

How do you use that command?

You put it in the console, which you can get to by pressing the ~ key.

Why not just make a shortcut with -file?

i mean everytime i try and join a game it says somethin like
you need the following files to play:

Supersonic.wad(some amount of KB)(too big to download from server)

make sure to get them from some where so you can play...
and i already have it downloaded...when i use the launcher it says...
YOU HAVE WADS DOWNLOADED THAT MAY CHANGE THE GAME IN SOMEWAY. PLEASE RESTART SRB2 AND TRY AGAIN(somethin like that)

Don't load the wads yourself, they will be loaded when you join the other person's game.

Though, if you're the one hosting, then the way you did it is the correct way.

Apparently you didn't read my post correctly. Since you already have the wad, you won't need to download it. Just open SRB2 normally (without any wads loaded) and join the person's game. SRB2 will automatically load the wad then.

Did you put the wad in the SRB2 folder? And did you modify the name of the wad (Because you aren't supposed to)?

yes i put it in the srb2 folder and no i didnt modify it

Hmm, I don't know then. What wad is it and whose server are you trying to join?

whether its one with supersonic or a contest wad or the mysticrealm wad and it does that even when i add it when im already playing

No, you're not supposed to add it, the game will do that for you automatically when you join.

Also, for Mystic Realm, it seems some people still have 4.2, and haven't yet upgraded to 4.3, so you'll probably get some MD5 errors.
