Since Unleashed, the boost formula has replaced the adventure one. While some appreciate the boost formula, others were not too satisfied. And for good reason. The enemies became glorified targets. All they'd do is stand there, waiting for destruction. The level design had gotten worse, it became pretty much a straight line. Filled to the brim with automation to compensate for the boost. Hold boost, jump, homing attack, QTE, boring. Fans have asked Sega to go back to the adventure formula, but to no avail. They'd continue to use it forevermore. If Sega doesn't want to go back, maybe they could combine them both. They could bring back the usual moves, spindash, homing attack, bounce, light dash, and the boost could instead be put on a meter, rather than on a button. Think of this, Sonic is running, he's not stopping, and a meter is increasing. This meter could be increased further by grabbing rings, and doing tricks. When it is maxed out, you could go faster, Not necessarily invincible to avoid over shadowing the spindash. And maybe in your super form the meter can be used to go even faster in the cost of rings. What do you think?
