I know that when you download SRB2, you get the source code for it as well, but how do you make a program out of the source code?

You download a compiler such as Microsoft Visual C++ ($$$) or Dev-C++ (Free).

There's a free edition of VC++, too, although I don't know how much success you'd have compiling SRB2 with it. Not much, though, I suspect.

There is? I've just been working with a pirate copy.

There is, but it's the 'Express' edition. The stuff that's missing isn't very useful for hobbyist folks like ourselves (except a resource editor), but I still prefer VC6, since it's so much snappier, being of a 1997 vintage. http://msdn.microsoft.com/vstudio/express/visualc/ if you're curious, though.

Huh... don't know why it never came to me. I'll have to ask my uncle to give me a copy of it, since this cheap Dev-C++ never really worked for me.
