Once again, you posted in a question in a topic that doesn't have anything to do with what you are asking. If you have a question, please make a new topic or post in a topic that is actually relevant to what you are asking for. I split the topic this time, but please try not to do it again.
As for answering your question, here are some things that will help you in making a level select picture.
First, run SRB2 in 640 x 400. Then you can use these commands to help you get a better screenshot.
Code:
SHOWHUD OFF
CHASECAM OFF
CROSSHAIR OFF
That will make sure that you don't get sonic (or any other character) in the screenshot, and any text out of the way. After you do that, take a couple of screenshots using F8. Once you find one you like, scale that picture down to 160 x 100. I would suggest you use something other then MS Paint, but you could if you wanted to. Rename the picture to MAPnnP.png (where nn is the map number). Then import the picture using XWE or SLumpED and you will be good to go.
Thanks for that. I had no idea how to do this. And I didn't know you meant this kind of thing, so in the future, I'll post a new thread for these questions.
You can also run SRB2 in a higher resolution (if your computer can handle it), take a screenshot, and pick a certain 160x100 area of the screenie and use that.
I think you need to make your levels more lively. Put more sceenery and keep it from getting flat by adding some obsticles. Please make the space wider too.
I also say that the position in the second screenshot is good.
Screenshots of levels should generally be in the area that fits the theme best, and has the most visual appeal. For example, THZ2's screenshot shows a fairly big room that represents what the level's about, and it looks nice.
