How do I make sprite lightning without banding?

I've recently tried to make sprites, but got told that the head has banding. I was also told it's a bad thing.
I learned what banding is, but Idk how to make that type of lightning that isn't banded or something?

There's a spriting tutorial at the SRB2 Discord Server just in case you didn't knew about that yet. Check the pinned messages at the spriting channel as they might help you.
