How do I change sprites?

I need to replace the candy canes with palm trees like in Mystic Realm, but when I copy and paste it into the wad using SLumpEd, it shows up as a graphic file instead of a sprite. When I tested it after that, my map was full of candy canes instead of the palm trees.

I really need help with this.

What you have to do is use the marker type S_START to begin using sprites. When the graphic lump you want is under the marker name it XMS2AO to replace the candy canes. After the sprite lump put S_END and you should be good.
