Yeah, from personal experience, I can pitch in that Clearwire is only great for portability. Don't rely on it for actual gaming.

You can close all music programs that link to the internet, close all internet pages and turn off any electronics except yours and your should be lower.

Check if anyone else is downloading things in your house. I found out once that was why I was getting 3000ms ping at my Dad's. :/ Once the downloading stopped, I was back at good ol' 50ms.

That's only one of the reasons you could have high ping, though.

SnowyFox, I did a simple google search and seems ClearWire is a bad company. There are even videos of having max strength on their router and having problems.

I've read a couple articles and paragraphs and it seems people just don't like the service and had many problems with it. Others stating its fine for web surfing, but awful for gaming.
