How come the sound effects don't work?

I went to go play SRB2 and I realized the sound effects aren't working. Like I can't hear Sonic spin dashing or the menu beeping as I scroll along it. I basically can't hear any noise except the music. The sound effects aren't off and my speakers are on completely. I deleted SRB2 restarted my computer and reinstalled it and the sound effect still don't work. What do I do?!

Make sure the sound effects are enabled and check your sound make sure its working.
