Hosting server problems...

I'm trying to set up a server for SRB2P (Sonic Robo Blast 2 Persona). But, my friend cant join via IP address and I'm getting stressed over why he can't join me and why do I need to forwarding port or something... is there any help I can get? (Please keep the instructions kinda simple lol)

yes, you need to port forward. There's lots of stuff online telling you how to do this.

You may also have to put said port at the end of the ip to join like this: 0.0.0.0.0:27999

SRB2P don't need much precise platforming so you can use a VPN if you don't want to port forward
