You only need one port open, 5029/UDP, not 5029/TCP, 28900/TCP or 28900/UDP. See SRB2 wiki: Netgame#Hosting a netgameJ-town said:Before you ask, i DID use the search feature.
Yeah, i cant host. I opened both ports 5029 and 28900. Nothing happens. I appear on Listserv but nobody can join for some reason. Any halp?

Also, J-town is not the only who is having the same problem. Me, Shrike and Silent_Snipe are in same trouble :/.

That doesn't make sense, all of srb2.org subdomains via http/https are hosted by the same program, on the same server. If wiki.srb2.org was down so would blog.srb2.org, www.srb2.org, and everything else (unless it a database issue and/or PHP error for the one subdomain).
the whole subdomains at a time, or just a page or two?Blue Warrior said:LoganA said:Ezer.Arch said:LoganA, seems http://wiki.srb2.org/wiki/Main_Page and some other sites hosted at srb2.org are experiencing a little downtime. www.srb2.org is fine though.

Yeah, it doesn't make sense, but it's happening to me too. At seemingly random times -- on seemingly random subdomains -- I can't connect to parts of the website with my D-Link router. It doesn't happen to any of the other routers I connect to, but considering other people are having the same problem, I'd say something is wrong with your server.
Also, no, I have no trouble hosting (when I can access the master server, anyway).
J-town said:Ahhh - I found my problem. I was hosting on TCP, not UDP.
EDIT: Did that. Still not working.
What model? and yes, your Lan IP, it goes something along the lines of "192.168.#.#"J-town said:Didn't understand that, Logan. D:
Do you mean Put my External I.P. Adress to where it says 'LAN Side I.P.'? I'm using Buffalo btw.
LoganA said:If it is about having your server being listed on the masterserver page, but not being listing in SRB2 client itself, it's just as Cue said, you don't port map 5029/UDP correctly. the SRB2 client sends each IP address (and on port number listed) on the masterserver list a ASKINFO packet, and waits to see if it get back a SERVERINFO packet. Only when the SRB2 client get that SERVERINFO packet, does it pops up as an entry on the in-game list.

Ezer.Arch said:First off, my connection is via radio. It's like a satellite dish, but instead of pointing to a satellite, is pointing to a radio antenna. I don't have in my house a router like this one: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Router. Probably the so-called router is in ISP plant. So I can't ensure everything I'm about to say here will go right for you.
What I did was a little trip:
To fix the things, I visited http://portforward.com/english/applications/port_forwarding/SRB2/SRB2index.htm , but... I don't have a router here! So, I clicked randomly on a link of that list.
Reading the first lines, I saw I need to have a Static IP Address, so I clicked on "Static IP Address" link (http://portforward.com/networking/staticip.htm), and on "Windows XP" link (http://portforward.com/networking/static-xp.htm), here I found the the instructions that made me to find that window (and to solve my problem).
When I opened that window in my PC, I saw it was set in "Obtain an IP address automatically". Then I said "something here is wrong, all fields are empty!". As I don't have a router here, I gave my ISP a call and spoke what's happening. They said the settings and the numbers I had to set up (as described in that window, but the numbers may be different for you). I clicked OK, and I did a test... worked!
To find that window in WinXP: http://portforward.com/networking/static-xp.htm (read starting from Step 5).
