1984-The Start of TMNT Franchise
In early 80's comic books were coming to be more serious with comics lile Daredevil and Ronin.
Two artist friends named Kevin Eastman and Peter Laird made a comic called "Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles" in 1984.It featured 4 turtles: Leonardo,Donatello,Raphael and Michelangelo fighting against an army of ninjas called The Foot and their enemy Shredder.
Not to mention,the comic was really dark with cuss words,bloodshed and alcohol.
However,it actually took off! The comic was a hit with the comic book readers and so Kevin Eastman and Peter Laird made a company Mirage Studios so they can more work on the comics.
