I know... call me noob...come on! lol..... anyways....
I play the Sonic game on multiplayer mode and I just notice...My name is compaq_owner...How can I change this!? And don't say go to the faqs :( ....
I'm not gonna look up for hours looking for it! Just tell me!!! Thanks!

All you have to do is go to a net game and everytime you enter go to multiplayer and in there you will see setup player.

after which you highlight player name use backspace to get rid of your old name ( I do it easier since my computer is registered as Bob lol ) and type a new one. you can also change color and character on that screen.

An easier way is to open up the console and type in "name <name>"
