Help with joining a netgame?

Somehow, whenever I try to join a netgame, it always seems to say "There was a problem connecting to the Master Server.".. could anybody help with this? Thanks in advance.

The Master Server is down.
When they edited the Website.
Direct Link : What Happened?/Where is the MS?/Where is the Wiki?/etc

Then how come I see servers on right now in the MS..?

You don't. You are seeing the server log that lists the last few servers that were online, which was a month ago in this case.

Oh.. well, I looked again and I'm seeing new servers starting right NOW.. O_O;
Are there any exploiters making hacked servers..?

I doubt so, I don´t think someone would take the job to hack a server just to play some flat Sonic fan game.
