I'm working on porting Bunnie Rabbot from 2.0 and want to be as faithful as possible to the original version. I am almost ready to submit the wad, but am having trouble setting up the skin color changing system for her.
In the original, her mechanical parts change color. I selected the closest palette in 2.2 that I could find to the original and made it, lilac, her prefcolor. I then chose another palette that seemed like it would not conflict with the rest of her sprite and translated the pixels of her mechanical parts into the new palette (cobalt). Finally, I declared cobalt her startcolor and ran the game. I found that the highlights on her mechanical parts, her eyes, and her muzzle had all changed to a neon green color.
I'm confused as to why I got the results that I did. Can anyone tell me where I messed up?
