Have really loved this pack; but I do have one critique:
The FF7 reps (Mostly Aerith and Tifa) have color swapped parts that're hard to spot/notice during gameplay; for Aerith being just the ribbon and undershirt, and Tifa's being just the hair-tie, gloves, and shoes. You mostly only see them from behind, so the undershirt on Aerith is a bit hard to spot, and Tifa's gloves/shoes are near unnoticeable except for during spinout. I think making the hair change color instead would help a lot in terms of readability of someone's playercolor from a distance. (And be much more striking.)
Generally, I prefer the character's kart color to match up with what I consider to be the character's color. For what it's worth, Aerith's changecolor is her
entire outfit, dress, jacket, and ribbon. The only things she's wearing that don't change are her boots and bangles. Tifa's are a little less stark, sure, but it's still as much of her outfit as I was able to fit in a custom color (skirt, gloves, boots, socks, gloves, and hair tie).
I'm not a big fan of using hair as the changecolor for characters in the way they do in vanilla for that reason- by this logic the kart colors would be brown and black, which feels kind of odd. In theory I could then bake in the colors onto the kart, but that feels less fun. There's not a lot of winning here, I think.
EDIT: Followup to this:
After talking with some friends about this, I tried to add Tifa's hair to her changecolor. I had to adjust the color distribution on her outfit a little bit, but for the most part it's indistinguishable, I think. Wine was also tweaked to include the browns of her hair, so the red is a little lower contrast so as to try and maintain the original look.
This will probably be included in the next update- I'm still trying to figure out if I wanna release a hotfix with this and one or two other small tweaks I missed from the last major release, or just wait till the next. I'm kind of at a conflict of interest because Tifa as-is has really particularly done color distribution, but obviously making her hair change helps with visibility and gameplay. The latter will probably win out though, the differences are admittedly tiny.
