I'm personally not embarrassed to say I like Sonic, Mario, or any of the other cartoonish games mainly because I know they are great games (urm Sonic refer to 16-bit and Mario refers to Galaxy) and I'm not really in the position to be picked on because over 90% of the people I know are on the internet. And I don't really have a "friend" or regular contact who would flame me for liking games that admittedly succeed despite a less realistic style.
