Gamepad "Is used by another player" when nobody is using the Gamepad

I'm using a Fight Pad Pro for the Nintendo Switch and I'm trying to connect the Gamepad to Player 1 Controls, but every single time I try to connect it, it says exactly this:

This gamepad is used by another
player. Reset the gamepad
for that player first.

(Press a key)

I then try to disconnect it from Player 2's port to find that it was never connected in the first place. I try to connect it to Player 2's port to find the message AGAIN! I really need help :(

I had the same problem as you. I had a NS controller that said it was being used by another. But what I think that happens is that it has the data of the NS, that's why it says it's being used by another player. I remember I fixed the problem, but I can't remember right now. I'll tell you if I can remember.

But what you can try for now is to hold down the Home button in the controller. If you have Windows 10 it may open the Game Bar. I really know I fixed the problem, but I can't remember correctly

I had the same problem.

I never was able to fix it like Come on i just want to play srb2 with a ns controller. :(

Oh, wait, I don't need to use the gamepad IN the game, I can use JoyToKey to play it "remotely". You know, "REMOTELY"???
