what
I'm not sure if the answer to my problem can be found elsewhere on the internet, but I've searched for quite a while and have been unable to find anything helpful.
Every few days or so, when I open SRB2, an error pops up, saying something to the effect of, "Your game data is for another version of SRB2. Try deleting gamedata.dat." Whether I actually delete this file or not, the result is the same; all of my emblems, unlocked characters/secrets, and all other items stored on this file are erased.
How could I stop this from happening in the future? I really enjoy SRB2, but this error is stressing me out.
Edit 1: I just got the error again, so I reinstalled the game. Hoping that works.
Edit 2: Even after deleting everything in my SRB2 folder and reinstalling the game, I still got the error. At this point, I have no clue what to do.
Edit 3: My gamedata.dat hasn’t exploded in enough time for me to get all obtainable emblems in v2.2.9 (which was about a month, give or take), so I guess the issue just… resolved itself?? I’m really not sure what I did or didn’t do to have potentially fixed this, but… o kay??
