game forces to quit when quitting sometimes without the picture

so i was playing srb2 the past and the moment i passed the signpost i quit the game and instead of showing the picture and playing a sound it forced to actually quit like pressing alt + f4 (if you don't know what that does its a thing to close stuff in windows) , but is that normal?

i had quitted the game the moment i passed the signpost, and the game did not freeze
