Invalid Game did not save progress

When I finished Red Volcano, I exited the single player mode to play multiplayer. When I tried going back into single player, the save data said that I was back in Egg Castle Act 2.

Have you "modified" the game? E.g. by using cheats or adding a non-cosmetic add-on to the game, anything that would cause the "isgamemodified" console command to tell you that you can't unlock extras (which also applies to general save data).
