Sonic 1 didn't really have very good music. Except for Green Hill. That's the only song that really stood out. I personally like S3K's music on the Genesis, but my favorite Sonic game music comes from Sonic CD. Both soundtracks, mind you. Stop pointlessly arguing about which soundtrack is better. They're both good in their own rights.

I like anything Richard Jacques did. Sans lyrics. It's got a very vivid quality to it, personally - some of the best tunes on the Saturn, to be sure.

And then there's Yuzo Koshiro... Sure, he only did the Game Gear Sonic 1, but then there's the Streets of Rage series.

All I have to say is that this game is actually fun, it's pretty well made and the AI is a bit strong, but once you play for a while you start knowing how to beat it, so it's actually challenging AND fun!
