Fixed a while back in the internal repository by complete accident, actually.
It's a result of some hacky code to try and get the old monitor wreckage out of sight and not sitting on top of the box. It moves the monitor outside so the upwards-moving item symbol gets outside consistently, fakes a collision between the player and the monitor, and then moves the "tmthing" - the last object which was considered to be moved or created - inside. Normally, the tmthing would be the broken monitor debris - but since SP bots can't break monitors, that's never created, so it's the last thing that moved. In this case, it's the bot.
Or, at least, it's enough like that that modifying the events involved stopped it from happening.
