An EXE mod isn't that simple. it's a long, complicated ordeal, that requires a LOT of knowledge pertaining to source coding and compiling. I recommend sticking to WAD mods, you're just not ready yet to make the leap to EXE.
You don't simply "make" an EXE mod.
You know languages? Like English, Spanish and all that?
You'd have to learn a completely new one, called C.
I liked www.cprogramming.com but I don't know if you're made of the stuff to stand such a long ordeal.
Now, to open SRB2's source code (the whole language in text form, before it is transformed into code the machine can read) you need a good environment and a compiler.
I recommend downloading Code::Blocks.
