So, you can actually make a wad containing just an S_SKIN file, and it actually becomes a character (selectable via console command and setup player).
Every character frame but his Face, Monitor Icon and (I don't remember right now, but I guess) End Post, that are replaced with "standard" ones (much like "?" and "1up" icon), are instead replaced with Sonic frames.
So, how comes the game crashes if i load an Md2 on an /empty/ wad?
These wads "skin only" (EXAMPLE: http://www.mediafire.com/download/dtatb5jx0hda9p0/DroneMattPure.wad ) anyway work with Luas targeting their name, so you can actually do anything with these if you are testing but you don't really feel like you're going to upload any real frame.
And this bugs me so much I can't make an archive which doesn't actually add frames to the game keeping it light that can be used with Md2 to give one any image to a character waiting for a replacement.

Also, these empty skins crush the game when quitting any special stage. I guess it is for the "Continue" icon.
