Yes, it does. You can target and run through individual maps to try and reduce your time.

Personally, ever since the multiple-thok has been removed, I haven't been able to beat the game in under 6 minutes.... But I'm a really bad SRB2 player.

megama- *IMPLODES* anyway, yeah, ive beaten under a minute with all characters, sonic, tails, knux, and zim (co-op). Its easy to do it with or without taking shortcuts.

ED: BTW, im a fox, so of course i beat it with tails

the 6-minute thing doesn't count an entire jaunt from start to finish in a game - it just takes your best time of each level from whenever you've played the game. You can see this by going to the Statistics page.

I would think it's impossible to get the time attack bonus using only Tails from a clean gamedata.
