Does this really matter?

while looking at the many other custom wads in XWE. I've noticed that the pictures (ie facename) are always on the upperleft corner, while mine are in the middle like the animation sprites.

The way I'm loading up my images is through the "entry" menu.

Does this have any effect on my wad? will it not work right because of this?

also, some other wads like the Amy wad, uses "Amy" instead of "Play" for the animation sprites. how, if possible, can I simply use "Blues" for mine?

For the first thing, I'm not sure if it matters or not, but you can make it go to the top left corner by setting both offsets to zero.

And for the second thing, You can use a 3 or 4 letter name for your sprite lumps. AmyRoseRider's sprites were named AMYR (but CZ64 changed them back to PLAY for some reason), for example. Even the official PLR files do it, TAIL and KNUX.
