Does SRB2 have a virus?

Last year, my antivirus detected a virus on my pc. However, I had 2 games at the time. Mari0, and srb2. I uninstalled both of them worrying about the virus. Does srb2 have a virus on it?

As far as I'm aware, it shouldn't. That happens to be a false flag, so you can safely whitelist them from your antivirus. Any open-source projects like this are generally safe, unless you're being attacked by a fork of that software under the terms of the license provided.

As you were answered yesterday in Discord, no: The game does not have a virus, provided you're downloading it form srb2.org

Always make sure you download games from their official site.
Some resharing sites, like Softonic, sometimes bundle other things with the repacked software - mostly adware.

By the way, McAfee is known to be a really bad antivirus that either doesn't do its job when it should, or pops up false-positives left and right.
You should consider using something else for an antivirus, like Avast (not bad but not great either), or just allow Microsoft Defender do its job alone.
Or worst case, you can use Malwarebytes instead.
