Does autoexec.cfg work for DRRR?

I have a certain amount of mods I'd like to use for when family members come over. Does autoexec.cfg work here too, or do I need to do something else?

make a file called ringexec.cfg and put your mods into it addfile "example.pk3"

And then enter, I assume?
