You can specify a titlemap to use via MAINCFG in a soc file or have a lump with the name TITLESKY that will replace the the title sky background.

The title screen can be edited in a variety of ways. Using SOC, you can change which map the title screen uses (including a custom one!) or edit the background, what mode the title screen uses, which graphics it uses, etc. https://wiki.srb2.org/wiki/MainCfg#Title_screen

If you want to use custom visuals for the title screen, you will have to use SOC to specify new ones.
