Dash's World: Moving to releases/massive update

No matter how nice those textures and sprites look, you really, really should be more focused on the levels you are making. Custom graphics can be nice, but they could never replace the fun you have with playing a new level.

The reason why the mod has not been released is mainly because of the levels.

The main focus of this mod IS the levels, I've shown a few screenshots of some unfinished levels, I just don't want take alot of screenshots of the levels, I'd rather them be played first.

Allright instead of screenshots, I'll give you a video of a level. I'll upload it asap.

Edit: Still waiting for sendspace...

Ok guys, sorry no video, but I figure it would be better if you play this your self. Alpha release comming soon, very soon, as in TODAY. The Alpha will have no levels, but that doesn't mean that they aren't being worked on, this is just a small preview of what I've got so far. After I put the last touches on the Alpha, you guys will finally get to test this out!

Exactly Vash, the actual beta will be released this weekend when I have finished some more levels.

Textures, sprites and sounds don't make a good WAD. You should work on it more before you plan a release.

You didn't read the next part of it, did you?

All right, here we go, Alpha 1, don't worry, I'm not focusing on just the visuals, I'm working on the levels as we speak.

Big file size, 19mb, I'll compress the music as soon as I can find an MP3 to OGG converter. In the mean time, critisize what I've got so far. Even though it's a large file, it's worth it.

Mirror for when the sendspace link dies: http://mihd.net/klo2pi

Click on "Request Download" in the top left corner of the page to download the wad.

Supports the main SRB2, pretty srb2 segment violate's. (I'm trying to fix this.)

Search for a converter. Oh wow. That's soooo hard. Anyway, I'm downloading it. Hopefully you didn't just put full music tracks in without looppoints, because then the music would serve absolutely no purpose.

=)

I played it. I have to admit, the title screen was very inviting, especially since there was a city behind the logo (REFERENCE TO MINT LIKING NEW YORK A LOT) and the music was good, and some of the sprites were nice, but that's it. No levels or anything.

Sadly, you SHOULD NOT RELEASE ANYTHING TOO EARLY. You should've finished the levels first, and then released this huge hunk of absolutely nothing. Sounds + textures + sprites does not a good wad make.

3/20

EDIT: WHERE DID YOU GET THE TITLE MUSIC FROM (and) I'D LIKE TO USE IT FOR MY MOD BECAUSE IT FITS THE MOOD.

Edit 2: Nevermind. Now that I've found the mood in the perfect set, I'll just compose something with the same mood.
