Isolated Case Console won't close, then fails to open again

So, I do whatever in the console on the title screen and try to close it. Nothing happens, the console stays there. I hit the escape key, which DOES make it vanish, but when I try to re-open it afterwards, it doesn't appear. I shrug it off and host my private game (on Hamachi) and open the console to do more things regarding the server itself, but when i try to close it, the same problem occurs. Is there any way to deal with this in-game, or is the problem hard-coded?

EDIT: At the time, the console was binded to the LSHIFT key, but now that it's binded to the \ key, everything seems to work...
