Clarification regarding the music

I'll keep it simple: you lot at Kart Krew Dev are fine with us using Ring Racers's music in the context of a base SRB2 mod, right?

I remember the usage policy being quite strict on the sprites, but I don't remember how it was for the music... I also no longer have access to Discord, so my only real bet is to ask here. If this is the wrong forum for this, feel free to move the thread out-

And, of course, I'm talking about the compositions specific to Ring Racers - i.e. the ones that are part of the Sealed Sounds: High Voltage Traxx 'album'. I know SOUNDSHOCK and whatnot are separate.

Per the Base Game Asset Permissions, using any Ring Racers assets (including music) outside of their original context requires permission.

...To be fair, it mentions remixing and editing (if I understand this part right)...

...but not explicitly using the songs themselves. I'm not splicing together a new looppoint or anything - all I'm asking is if it's okay to simply re-contextualise some of the songs. (Though it's not clear if "editing" includes that and that's what you mean...)

Did you read the statement from KK clarifying RR asset permissions attached at bottom of the post?

The section you highlighted is talking about using RR assets within RR. As a general rule, you are not allowed to use RR assets outside of RR.

Well, yes. From what I understand, though, it only specifies what you said for textures:

- Can users edit textures and use them in their addons?

If you'd like to use any of Ring Racers' original textures in any other context, please ask us permission!
We don't bite! DM any dev and they will forward the request to the right person.

However, once again, it's a bit unclear if "edit"/"modify" everywhere else (including the actual section about the soundtrack) also includes this rule...

I'll still shoot out some PMs here to ask the devs themselves, though. Thanks for the help... ^.^"
