According to the second GIF...Yeah it's Metroid.
But isn't this supposed to be 1st person?...I mean the hud really looks like a 1st person game's hud.

I've seen some of the older versions of this. It is meant to be in 1st person, but all of the effects shown wouldn't be too apparent outside of 3rd person.

So, what exactly does the shinespark look like in opengl? Also, is the ballspark a thing?
I would kinda recommend giving the screw attack more after images as well, as to make it look a bit more fancy, but that's just me.

Oh guys it's not just regular Metroid it's Metroid FREAKIN Prime!
Also did i see that health bar from kirby thing rose when kirby grabed some rings in second gif.
