Jellybones

Lawful Neutral
I made my character wad, all his frames and everything. But I want to know why he sigsevs when he bounces off springs, and why he has this huge white around him. I also want to know how to make him playable in single player. He appears on the character select menu screen normally, but selecting him only makes me play as Sonic. Any help...?

You don't put purple as the background. Cyan is the one that tells srb2 what is transparent. Go get the XWE purple fix from the XWE wiki. http://dw.sepwich.com/files/XWE.zip

The picture below is the exact color that XWE needs for transparancy.

(use right click and save image as)
Use the color picker in MS paint, and fill the background with that color.

It's not a good idea to put a sprite shadow in your spites. It's better just to use srb2JTE or prettySRB2 for that.

Yeah, the only shadow problem I can see is the player running off a cliff and the shadow being in mid-air.

Right. Thinking of a different game.

I'm actually using Slumped, not XWE.

Well, this wad is just for myself, but I never thought of that. =P

You have to go and create a copy of the SRB2 palette and change index 247 to cyan. Then load your image in that modified SRB2 palette and save it. When SLumpEd tries to convert it to Doom GFX, it will work.

Actually, that image that I uploaded is indexed in the srb2 palette. So if you edit that in MSpaint (or whatever you use) it would be okay.

Well, Darkness Claw helped a lot and offered to fix all these, which he did. SO thanks to him/her. =P I owe him/her.

Now I need to figure out how he can be used in single player mode.. How can I do this? He has his select picture and description which both appear fine, but picking him just makes me play as sonic. Any help?

The skin name in OBJCTCFG is not the same as the skin name in S_SKIN.

It happened to me before, and that’s always been the problem.

Ok, that fixed the single player problem.

Oh, ok. Whenever I don't do that I get people telling me they are the opposite gender then what I called them..

One last problem has come up. My character's taunts won't sound in single player, only in multi player. The SRB2 wiki tells me I must make the sounds happen by directing it to do so in S_SKIN, but how?

Sorry for double posting, but new question.

The above post isn't my problem; I need to know how to turn my taunt's lumps from sprites to sounds so that the taunts can work properly.

How did a sound become a sprite?
Anyways... To change it to sound, Right-click on it and select "Change Type"
Then replace the number with 56.
You should now have a sound lump.
