Character Speed Anger

Here goes, first thread.

I'm really puzzled that Knuckles is faster than Tails, what gives??
Tails is the same speed as Knuckles in the original games!
I think if you want to have a slow character, it should be knuckles.
So i tried to edit tails with notepad, but SRB2 won't run!

As i said, what gives!?

The game checks a list of files it needs to see if they've been modified. If they have been modified, the game won't start. You've modified Tails, so the game doesn't start any more.

Reinstall SRB2.

Knuckles is faster than Tails for game balance reasons. And I see no reason why it's a problem that Tails is slower than Knuckles and not vice versa. Who cares anyway if it plays well?

So, other than the main issue at hand, which has been resolved, why are you editing a WAD with Notepad? You need a lump editor such as XWE or SLumpED to edit the stats and put it in the WAD.


Either that or I've never tried opening a WAD in notepad.

Notepad works just fine. Off the top of my head, the only hard part would be anything graphics-based.

EDIT: ALSO i guess it would be kind of hard to generate blockmaps and stuff manually, but you can still edit them easily-ish

Here's some info for you.
You ABSOLUTELY HAVE TO USE A WAD EDITOR! There is no way around it.
