Can I edit sprites in xwe?

Can I edit the sprites in XWE? Because I have an awsome Idea using tails as the basis but i dont want him to look too much like tails, so if i can please tell me how and if not then well i find antoher way into the sprites...

You can, but it's a pain in the ass. You really should use some other program for that.

Yeah.
I use paint mostly, just save the frame and edit it somewhere.

Paint's done fine for me. You can use something else. Really, any image editing program works.

Just to be outright blunt about the program you can't edit sprites in XWE itself unless you just want a recolored character, nothing more really. :<
