asymmetrical sprites not working as intended

hey! i've been making sprites for an oc of mine - after the last update i'd made her a sheet with the symmetrical template (with my own colors, i hadn't used the default color-changable green on the sheet at all) and got the addon running smoothly. i still have the wad file for this one and it's working fine.

now i've made her a new version with an asymmetrical sheet (with the ability to change the character's color this time), but now some of her individual sprites have a colored square background and aren't working in the right places? so during gameplay there's just a flickering square around her; the most notable example i have for the wrong sprites acting up is that when facing forward, not only is it a sprite of her looking to the side, but her dead sprite is flickering in the background of her hitbox too. her select/minimap icons aren't showing up n the tire animations aren't doing their thing either. i opened the sprites up in slade and noticed the background square is the same color as the empty space in the sheet template where the sprites don't go, not the actual "transparent" background color behind the sprites. i can post my sprite sheet if needed - i'm not entirely sure where i messed up when making it, if at all. (i did have some trouble n thought it was a bit weird that i have to mirror the sprites on the sheet for my actual intention of where things go to show up properly in the game. maybe i misunderstood the assignment somewhere lmao.)
