I choose cats, because my dog is wonderfully slobbery and playful... but my cat is more sophisticated somehow... sleeps on my pillow (and drools on me, but it a cute way) plus she makes far less mess. Oh yes. Cute kitty... Nice kitty... *Is eaten by a lion*

Oh, dogs, most definitely. Loyal, playful, and loving. Seriously, who can't love the happy-dog reaction whenever you walk in the door? And playing fetch in the backyard? And they make excellent pillows, to boot. :)

This one is Veda, she is a loving and playfull cat

This one is Shadow, she is a easly scared kitten, we named her Shadow because she is always in the Shadow of her sister, Veda

Arn't they the cutest littermates you have ever seen? It is always cute to see them all cuddled up or playfighting with eachother, I also have two fully grown black cats named Nelly and Babykitty(Please, don't ask) and
a dog named Rosie

Here's a pic of my dog. Technically it's my mom's but I claim partial ownership since I still have to care for her (not that I mind)

If I had my choice I'd have a Siberian Husky. They are the ultimate proof of what Chaos said.
Playful as hell and probably the most beautiful animal in my eyes.
